v2.24.0 <https://github.com/prometheus/prometheus/releases/tag/v2.24.0> of
the Prometheus server <https://github.com/prometheus/prometheus/> is
finally out!

We waited a bit longer after publishing the release candidate because of
the new year holiday period. The only difference between the final release
and the RC is a small “fix of the fix” in DNS SD. Also, TLS documentation
is now properly linked on the Prometheus website
<https://prometheus.io/docs/prometheus/latest/configuration/https/>.

Most notably, this release offers built-in TLS for HTTP endpoints
<https://prometheus.io/docs/prometheus/latest/configuration/https/> and
adds a backfill feature to the promtool command line tool
<https://prometheus.io/docs/prometheus/2.24/storage/#backfilling-from-openmetrics-format>
(starting
just with backfilling from an OpenMetrics file, we plan more backfill
features in future releases, depending on user feedback).

The changelog and the binaries are available via GitHub
<https://github.com/prometheus/prometheus/releases/tag/v2.24.0>.

You can find container images at Quay
<https://quay.io/repository/prometheus/prometheus?tab=tags> and Docker Hub
<https://hub.docker.com/r/prom/prometheus/tags>.

Enjoy!
