Hello everyone, As you may or may not know, we have a Prometheus Conformance Program <https://github.com/cncf/prometheus-conformance> underway. And the interface compliance tests for them live here <https://github.com/prometheus/compliance>. Currently they cover (1) OpenMetrics (2) PromQL (3) Remote Write.
In the below doc, I am proposing compliance testing for the "alert generator" (and hence include it in the conformance program). Alert generator is the component that executes the alerting rules and sends alerts over to the Alertmanager (so it's everything before we touch Alertmanager and not the Alertmanager itself, not to get confused here!)
