I think it depends on your Confluent solution.
If it is an on-prem solution ie Confluent Platform, then yes, it is 
certainly possible using the JMX exporter. Details on using it is in the 
confluent inc github repo.
On the other hand, if the Confluent solution you want to monitor is 
Confluent clund, then i have found it to be not so easy.
In fact i am struggling with it myself :)
But from their documentaion it says
https://api.telemetry.confluent.cloud/docs#tag/Version-2/paths/~1v2~1metrics~1{dataset}~1export/get

so it should be possible.
It is easy to just copy paste from their documentation, but to actually get 
some worth out of it has proven a bit harden.

I would like to hear about your findings... as i also need this to work :)
