Hi, I've been a lurker for many years. My needs have been modest. However, I'm starting to do high speed and RF boards. I noticed that there are signal integrity DRC's. The first one I'm interested in is the characteristic impedance. I do not understand how Protel 99SE calculates impedance.
1. I do not see where to enter the er and thickness of layers. 2. I do not know how or what equations are used. Can someone enlighten me?
