You can either build the jar using maven (see the readme) or you can download the jar from a maven repository. The maven repositories are just HTTP servers, so you don't really need Maven if you just want the specific jar. Here is a link: http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/google/protobuf/protobuf-java/2.4.0a/
