use firebug, and check the response from the server. (make sure error reporting is on) if the return from the ajax query is an error... then its server side.
I suspect its a php related time error, you should check those scripts. NOW if its a local javascript error, (not a bad return from the server) it may be that you have not initalized the control correctly does this help?
