     I'm looking into this now, but I got the following syntax error
     on OBSD, 64-bit x86, gcc 3.3.5:

     In file included from memmem.c:19:
     string.h:75: error: syntax error before "__dest"
     string.h:96: error: syntax error before "__dst"
     *** Error code 1

     The offending line is in gl/string.h:

     extern void *mempcpy (void *restrict __dest, void const *restrict __src,
            size_t __n);
