The only current in-force patents in the field are the Bellovin & Merritt
EKE patents.  Two organizations with pending patents are Stanford (SRP),
and Integrity Sciences (SPEKE).  Opinions on what it means to be "patent-free"
and "liberal terms" vary widely.  You should contact these organizations
directly to determine their current and future terms, opinions on patent
coverage,
and policies for free use.
