I am trying to get Ogle working again on RH8.0 and I am up against a
problem when I try and activate dma on my dvd drive:
[root@touzi root]# hdparm -d 1 /dev/hdb
/dev/hdb:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
using_dma = 0 (off)
Adding a h /etc/sysconfig/arddiskshdb file does not hep either.
How can I allow this kind of operation? I do not recall any such problem
with RH7.3.
Enabling dma on dvd players is essential for smooth playback (at least
on Ogle)
Does anyone have suggestions?
