making Galeon the default

I installed galeon on my fresh RH install (up2date -u galeon), but the applet in 'start
here' does not seem to make galeon the default browser successfully, I still get 
Mozilla,
but maybe that's because the start page is still set to file://(welcome screen). I 
don't
have my linux box here at the moment to experiment more, I just wondered what the 
proper
procedure to set the default and the start panel shortcut to galeon is. Thanks.
