Odd - I have the latest(6.03) static version on a vanilla 8.0
install, and it worked fine. I dloaded the "QT static" tarball rather
than the rpm. That worked fine - try that...
I'm finding that a few things with 8.0 seem to need static or
source code compiles to get it to work - not surprising for the "latest
and greatest"...
