[snip] With 7.3 it's broken and hasn't been fixed yet (some developer on limbo-list or so mentioned a KDE errata release, though -- hopefully that one will come true and fix this, too). With 8.0 you just disable the checkbox in Preferences > Look & Feel > Colors [ ] Apply colors to non-KDE applications then log out of KDE and log in again. My ~/.Xresources is loaded then unlike with 7.3. --
