More info:
On a RedHat 7.2 desktop, sometimes the key repeat stops and
an hour or so later starts working again. This is without
restarting X or doing anything to the computer other than
typing and running programs like Xemacs.

The machine is a dual 1G PIII with promise IDE RAID,
RedHat 7.2 and kernel 2.4.17 (from tarball, not RH supplied).

The lady who uses this computer gets rather frustrated by
this problem.....
