No, there's something wrong with "make xconfig", I just tested this. If I do:
make mrproper
make xconfig
load kernel-2.4.18-athlon.config
save and exit
make dep
make bzImage modules
then the compilation fails. If I do instead:
make mrproper
cp configs/kernel-2.4.18-athlon.config .config
make oldconfig
make dep
make bzImage modules
now the compilation succeeds. I believe those two command sequences _should_
work the same, but they don't.
