First, Thank you mike for your help. Your information has been valuable
to me. I have been able to compile and install that printer driver.
But in an effort to rectify any further compiling or other errors of
that nature I have tried to run the package manager in KDE.
However it has been without success. Through the terminal I tried the
command redhat-config-packages and got these errors.

Sorry about the mess I just copy and pasted.
any suggestions as to how to fix this I would appreciate that. I would
rather use the package manager than manually install all the developer
tools. Due to the fact that it seems to have caused more problems than
it solved.
