I agree that perl can do anything (everything?) but I can use awk,
grep, sed, etc. a lot faster, and with far fewer lines of code. Plus,
there's a really nice tool called a2p which will take an awk script and
convert it to perl so you can use awk as an uber-RAD tool to build perl
scripts. (It's also the way I learned perl in the first place).
