The rpm command above gives the same output on my box. Running
configure directly from the untarred archive, and with these options:
./configure --x-includes=/usr/X11R6/include/ \
--x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib/
I still get the same error:
checking for zlib.h... no
checking for X11/xpm.h... no
configure: error: Xpm library and/or headers are not installed
(required)
I put those options because I found:
[marco@polaris dfm]$ ls -l /usr/X11R6/include/X11/xpm.h
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 16668 Sep 6 05:28
/usr/X11R6/include/X11/xpm.h
[marco@polaris dfm]$ ls -l /usr/X11R6/lib/|grep -i xpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 81420 Sep 6 05:28 libXpm.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Nov 8 17:26 libXpm.so ->
libXpm.so.4.11
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Oct 18 06:20 libXpm.so.4 ->
libXpm.so.4.11
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 56596 Sep 6 05:31 libXpm.so.4.11
For the record, changing to --x-includes=/usr/X11R6/include/X11 gives
the same result.
What next? Thank you in advance!
