I'm sure that the track is selected using both the key commands and the Shift
plus select track on the 002. I have Grid mode selected and not slip or
shuffle, but as for the other options I will check them out. One other thing,
when I first load up a session, the first time I need to make a selection and
delete or copy it will work fine, but after that once it is a no go. Perhaps I
am overlooking something simple, I will report back later on.
Thanks

Just two things of which to be absolutely certain at the outset:
  1. Is the track you're wanting to edit selected? and
  2. Is the edit and timeline selection linked as well as edit selection
following track selection under the Options menu?

If so, pressing down arrow for the start point and up arrow for the end point
will make a selection in that track. Pressing the delete key or cutting will
remove that section of the waveform in the timeline. If your edit insertion is
set to follow playback, you won't gear the result because your playback
position would be before the edit. Second, if the edit mode is Shuffle, the
audio will have shifted forward and it might not be apparent that something was
removed because it might sound seamless. In slip mode, all regions will remain
stationary unless purposely nudged after the fact.

  Hope that helps,

  Slau

Ok, I don't know if I changed a setting, but when I select a track to
delete a section and use the arrow down to start the selection and then up to
end the selection, and hit delete, the only thing that happens is my curser
moves to the end point where I arrowed up instead of selecting that section for
a delete/edit. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
