Lion (10.7) is still the best version of OSX to use with pro tools. Pro Tools 9 or Pro TOols 10 work fine. Though with pro tools 10 you will have to remove all the AAX plug ins since they aren't accessible. Doing this will force Pro TOols to use the Accessible RTAS plug ins.
