Hi all. 

Slau, could this be the solution to my query the other day? The retractable USB 
numpad sounds perfect, although I'm not entirely sure what is meant by the term 
modifiers in this case... Is it the issue with using command or option on the 
MBP with the numbers on the USB numpad? 

Scott, I am in Scotland so I will have a look around for one of these and post 
any results back here.
