One difference I can think of is that every band on an EQ generally has a q control, which I can't remember seeing much if ever on a multiband comp...
I want to say there's a difference between scooping a la EQ and gain reduction a la compressor, but apparently I'm too stupid to put it into words. Argh! Maybe there isn't?
