just to add, if you decide to investigate l 3 further. there are two plugs in 
the set. 
it’s called the waves l 3 multi maxamizer.
 in there you have the multi maxamizer, and the ultra maxamizer.
the multi maximiser, allows you to use multi band compression to fix up things 
in the mix, while maxamizing the level. I have not used this much.
I mainly use l3 ultra maximiser, athis is used for maxamizing the levels of the 
entire mix. I use it on most things in the final mastering stages of projects.  
I’ve used it for broadcast work as well. I must admit, if you use it carefully, 
you can get loads of gain, and things sound tite. as far as the parameters go, 
i just the treshold control depending on just how loud i need the file to be.
I have not touched multi maxamizer at all on the mac as yet. But i intend to 
try it out in p t soon.
