I have a Presonus Faderport control surface which I'm using in ProTools. Yeah,
I know, it's probably not the most high end, but hey, it does give me a
motorized fader, and physical hardware buttons to mute, solo, arm, etc.

So, my question is, by default, the fader on the unit is set to do what most
surfaces naturally would do... raise or lower output volume. What I'm
wonderring though is, is there a way I could, not globally, but only in one
session preferably, remap that fader so instead of it adjusting the output
volume of the selected track, instead, it would control the value of a
parameter within a plugin? For example, say I wanted to have it move the
threshold up or down within a compressor. Or say, I wanted it to control the
wet mix slider within the air nonlenniar reverb plug. Does that makes sense?

There is no way to do this that I'm aware of from the surface itself. the only
way I know this even might be doable is if ProTools itself would give me the
ability to reassign it from within the DAW.

It's not a big deal if this can't be done, but it just has me thinking.

Chris.
