Oh… Christian, My prediction is that you will be quite overwhelmed by Pro Tools. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve had all the experience in the world with other DAWs, Pro Tools, just like any such complex software, has an enormously steep learning curve. The fact that you’re jumping in with a monthly subscription makes me think that you’ll give it a month and, believe me, a month is nowhere near enough time to learn a decent amount about Pro Tools, that is, enough to figure out whether you want to continue learning it. Please don’t misunderstand what I’m trying to say. I’m not trying to discourage you. In fact, quite the opposite. I’m simply trying to suggest that a month is not going to be enough time for you to make a truly educated decision. Hopefully, you’ll see that there are a bunch of people using it consistently and that it’s possible to learn it like an expert but it’s going to take a ton of time and a lot of discipline to read manuals. Don’t think you can just learn it by poking around. Sure, that’s part of the process but the only way to truly learn it is to read. There are some tutorials out there but the only one that’s even close to comprehensive is based on Pro Tools version 10 so it’s largely outdated and only certain aspects are still relevant.
The Space plug-in is essentially accessible but the process of adding new impulses doesn’t seem to be. There are only a limited number of impulses to start. I find it to be OK but Altiverb seems quite a bit better.
