That is good. I'll have to try it out with ivory and see if it works while the mac is running.

Hi Gord,
I guess as long as one computer is acting as the iLok license server and both computers are on the same network, yes, that's the idea. Sounds good, eh? ;)

Does this mean that I can have my iLok connected to my mac running pro tools, but as long as my mac is up and running I could run something like ivory on my PC without having to disconnect the ilok from the mac and plug it into the windows machine. That is something I would use because I still go back and forth between pro tools and Sonar from time to time.

Subject: future network authorization for iLok License Manager

Those who have carefully read through the iLok License Manager manual might have noticed a reference to network authorization. This was introduced a while ago but only pertained to site licenses. Pace has made some changes to accommodate single-user network authorization. If you've recently upgraded to Pro Tools 12.6, you might have noticed a message from iLok License Manager regarding network authorization. It requires you to have one computer always acting as a server. Providing that machine is on and you're connected to it either locally or via VPN, you can run Pro Tools on a remote computer without an iLok present. To be clear, you don't have to use this feature and most people will simply continue to use the iLok exactly as it has worked all along. This is just another option for authorization. Just so the users here know, that section of the iLok License Manager that requires setup for such network authorization is not yet accessible and Pace is naturally aware of this and, as in the past, I'm working with them to eventually make it accessible. Pace has demonstrated their commitment to accessibility so I'm personally not concerned that upon its roll-out, this feature is not yet ready for setup using a screen reader. At this point, it looks like it should be ready some time around the end of the year. Just an FYI.
