Brian,

This isn't working.

I'm on PT 12, and it looks like this article is for V8 and V9. They even
mention in it, if this doesn't make it into PT 11, Avid needs to be shot. So,
yeah, I'm wonderring if this feature has been deprecated, or maybe there is
another way now that this has to be done.

This is PT 12.4 running on Sierra 10.12.3.

I did what it said, creating the folder within /Applications/Avid/Protools
called "Track Presets", obviously, without the quotes, and I made sure to pay
attention to uppercase and lowercase letterings, and I put the track inside
that folder.

To get things configured as needed, I had to create two tracks. One audio mono
track which I then popped a send on Send A, and sent it to a new track, which
is a stereo auxiliary input, and I made sure the IO paths were correctly set on
each track. Then I popped my reverb on insert A of that aux input, as well as a
compressor, set my volumes and presets on each of the two plugs, plus set
everything on the audio track, then, made sure in the track list table, that
both tracks were selected, which they were, then, that's! when I tried saving
the preset.

When I then create a new session, then with no tracks in it, I hit
command+Shift+N for new track, then look in the track type popup button, I do
not see Lead Vocal, which is what I named the template which I placed in the
newly created Track Presets folder.

I also tried doing the same thing under my user directory/Documents/Protools,
but putting the Track Presets directory there didn't work either.

Yes. I did close and reopen ProTools after saving. Still no luck.

Chris.

OK, so, I have a situation where I need to use a send which, always?
always, always! absolutely paramount! must! must must must! Be prefader.

The thing is, this is gonna need, with the project I'm doing to span over
several different PT sessions. Yeah, I know I could just make a PT template,
but I really don't wanna do that, as in this case, I might not want the send
doing exactly the same thing.

So, my point therefore is, is there a way that I can somehow set ProTools
so that by default all sends in all sessions and on all tracks will be, when
created, set to pre, instead of post, thereby saving me the trouble of having
to keep constantly hitting the prefader button within the send itself? I don't
mind doing so, but after a while, it gets kind of old, and honestly, kind of
annoying.

    Chris.
