Hi Ramy,

Two things which might help you:

In ProTools preferences, operation tab, transport cluster, check the 
checkbox "audio during fast-forward/rewind", set the "custom FF/RW 
speed" to your preference but I find around 500 % is good. then make 
sure that the numeric keypad mode is set to "transport".

Now you should be able to hear samples as you fast-forward with num-pad 
2 or rewind with numpad 1.


The second thing is that you can hear playback at increasingly fast 
speeds by holding down the control key and pressing num-pad 6 through 9.
