The Focusrite may be like my Apogee, which clicks on when I power up the Mac. I 
haven’t tried their stuff, so take it as ya will.

I have both the MP and the MPv3, and I have the same issue. I bought the v3, 
because I thought my first MP was noisy from sitting in my shed, but the new 
one is also noisy. I think it’s because the boost switch uses more input gain, 
though I’m just guessing again. Your best bet is using more gain on your 
interface and going light on the MP’s gain.
