Guys, I won't take much time with this, as this technically isn't PT related, but we have lots of guitarists on here, so figured I'd ask. Feel free to write me off list about this.

Never have I explored any type alternet tunings until now. I'm having to learn a song in standard dropped D tuning.

The song is in D mager, and there is one place where I need an F sharp mager chord. I know how to do a standard E form bar chord with my 2nd 3rd and 4th fingers playing an E chord, then bar it up at the 2nd fret and strum all 6 strings, but obviously, this won't work with dropped D tuning. I know I could do this and just not play the low 6th string, but I really want to get that low F sharp root note in there if possible.

Even if it's technically not an F sharp, but more is like an F sharp add9, or some colored version of it, what fingers on what strings what frets would be the best way probably to do this if it was you? As I said, we're in the key of D mager, and the next transitioned chord after the F sharp would be a B miner to a G, to an A, then back to my D chord.

When writing me, please don't give me numerical termanology. I'm not far enough in music theory along to understand it. Just tell me in language like: first finger first string 2nd fret, second finger 3rd string 3rd fret, etc. Adhere to the acronym of Kiss. LOL!

Again, feel free to write me off list about this.
