Hello Katie! The current version of Pro Tools 2022.12 does support M1 and M2 Macs. Further we'll expect the next version quite soon.
Be aware that also all your plug-ins have to be m1/m2 ready. The AIR instruments bundle in your Avid account isn't at the moment, but will be with the upcoming version. Also, I was wondering if ProTools works on a MacBook Air with an M2 chip? I received a MacBook Air for my birthday in January, and didn’t know if it would be compatible with ProTools.
