Hi Steve Martin, pro tools support all the things that you mentioned, i'm just
not sure how to connect my Yamaha Motif es 6 to my current setup. i know that
pro Tools supports midi but the question is can i use a usb cable to connect it
to my mac mini. After connecting my Yamaha motif es6 to my mac mini through
the usb port what is next? Thank you for any other information that you might
have concerning my questions.

What you will need to figure out is if pro tools supports external MIDI or
playing sounds on external MIDI Devices. You will also need to connect the
analog outs of the Yamaha keyboard to the analog in of your audio interface and
record the sounds to an audio track.
If pro tools supports sending MIDI out an external device then you can make
this happen.
