New User Seeking for Ptolemy Hackers Help

Hi, I am Thymios, a new PTOLEMY user, from the department of Informatics of University of Athens Greece. I am looking for a simulation tool, to simulate a simple 3 node or a 4 node optical WDM network (eg. a ring), where each node will include post and pre amplifiers, cross connectors, add drop multiplexers demultiplexers, filters etc, and the links (optical fibers), will be WDM links, where each channel of the WDM link will carry the main data optical signal (carrier) and a low frequency signal superimposed on it (Subcarrier Modulation). I have just downloaded PTOLEMY CLASSIC version 0.7.1 for Users and tried almost all of its possibilities and demos but I could not finger whether this simulation tool is appropriate for the kind of simulation I previously described (Maybe the DE Domain might have some possibilities). So, my question is, whether or not it is possible with PTOLEMY USERS tool to simulate the optical network I described, or even with PTOLEMY PROGRAMMERS tool, and also if Ptolemy-Hackers team has any suggestions about how to make an implementation of the network simulation I want. Mr Hylands suggested that I should subscribe myself to Ptolemy-Hackers mailing list and ask about it.Please I would like an answer as soon as possible, because if Ptolemy doesn't suit me I will have to look for another simulation tool-Do you have anything in mind?                                                                            Thank you in advance                                                                                     Thymios
