I think that

ptolemy.actor.gui.Configuration.findEffigy(NamedObj)

(a static method) will do what you want.

Note that once an actor imports user interface code, it can no
longer be run without a user interface...

Hi,

How can I get the top level effigy from within an actor? From within an Effigy, I can just call topEffigy() but from within a TypedAtomicActor, there doesn't seem to be an interface to do this. Is there an equivalent call to be able to manipulate a model from an actor?

thanks,
chad
