*ahem* I regularly SSH through tunneled connections to the company I'm working for, and those sessions stay up, even when I bounce the tunneled connection (drop it and re-connect). I find it difficult to believe that WiMAX is the sole source of the problem here, if indeed packets are having trouble getting through.
