Wellll... Any app/device that auto-connects to wifi (ie sirius stilleto, wifi 
voip phone, nintendo wii) that is devoid of a browser may have an issue.

The tweet that I saw said this:

  "I just want easy Internet access (ie. no need to open a browser)
   for my laptop and iPhone at coffee shops."

Maybe some one should write an iphone and/or android app that
auto-auths.  That would be another solution.
