Hi Scott,
I've found that as long as you get the proper format card reader for the
type of card you have, any card reader should work. For example, get a flash
card reader for a flash card, or smart media card reader for a smart media
card ETC.
You might want to check the specs on the web to see if there is a
recommended card reader for your type of card.
But, I believe that the card readers are fairly standard like disk drives or
CD-rom drives. When I purchased my sandisk 512 MB flash card, I was just
able to purchase a card reader that fit my flash card format.
You should probably check to see if you have a type 1 or type 2 card, and
then make sure that the type of reader you get can support type 1 or type 2.

One peace of advice though, if your home system has enough USB ports, or you
use more than one computer through out your day, get a USB card reader. Its
more portable. For instance, Sometimes I like to edit books while I'm at
work. So, I can bring the card reader to work and I don't necessarily have
to bring the PTR1 with me. The card reader is about the size of a pack of
cigarettes, and as soon as you plug in the USB cable, it recognizes it as a
"removable storage device".
It may not be the best choice for you though, so consider your options. They
are pretty inexpensive.
Hope this helps.

Subject: Card reader

Hello List
I use the 5 gb Toshiba pcmcia type card with my PTR1. It works well, but
I'm fed up of having to copy material from my PC to a disk and then onto the
card,
so I want to by a card reader for my PC.
I think I have seen people talk about this on the list, so I would
appreciate any suggestions as to which card readers definitely work with the
Toshiba
5gb card. I would prefer an internal IDE reader, but I would be happy with a
USB reader.
Many thanks for your help.
