Hello Kevin,

I made quite a few great recordings in Wave format using a CompactFlash
card. One can record in Wave format onto PC card hard discs, but since
hard discs make some noise, I prefer CF cards.

I once recorded the birds singing near my window in stereo. It sounded
very good. One has to use a stereo mic preamp a preamplified microphone
or a mixer for that. Big companies like Sony do not produce such mics or
preamps. There are some good preamps, preamped mics and mixers from
smaller companies, but they're often only available in certain countries. I
for instance have a preamp from the English company Demion
(www.demion.co.uk) called MA 09 and a portable mixer from the German
company Monacor (www.monacor.com). I don't think, that these devices are
available in the U. S.
