Correct:  Toshiba drive is somewhat noisy and generates a fair amount of 
heat:  as such it is also a good battery drainer.  Power consumption 
cannot be generalized for CF cards,  it depends on the individual 
model/size/manufacturer.  But at least,  solid-state CF cards will be 
completely quiet:  no moving parts.

According to the PlexTalk manual, battery life, if you are on battery is
significantly better with CF cards.
