Hi:
There are different flavors of DAISY content. DAISY content from RFB&D for example, that you can play on your Plextalk, is DAISY audio, primarily.
Bookshare.org's DAISY content, on the other hand, cannot be played on a Plextalk. Bookshare.org's DAISY content is in DAISY full text, so it is best to play it with the DAISY computer-based playback software that Bookshare.org offers i.e. Victor Reader Soft from VisuAide.
This is the beauty of DAISY content; it is imminently flexible and versatile. You can have DAISY audio, DAISY full-text, or, as DAISY becomes more and more prevalent and playback hardware and software can support it, we will have mixed media with DAISY text and audio combined.
Best, Jennifer

Hi list,
A Bookshare subscriber has asked me to pass this question along. When you download the DAISY books from Bookshare, do they need to be converted into a different format before being burnt onto a cd for playing on the Plextalk? Or can you simply download a book and move it to cd?
In either case, will the process of navigating this file, once it is on a cd, be different from a typical DAISY book from RFB for example?
