I am a little confused by much of this discussion. I know that I am
probably not the only one. So for those of us who are not yet power
users I would like someone to address the following questions:

1. When you talk about USB card readers I think that you may be talking
about readers that will read various flash card formats into your
computer. That is, the flash cards may have started out in the PCMCIA
slot of the plextalk but there is actually no way to interface one of
these multi-format readers directly with the plextalk. Is this true or
am I missing something?

2. It seems that the most common flash configuration for the plextalk is
a compact flash card in a carrier designed to fit into its PCMCIA slot.
Is this true? Why? Is it the densest and cheapest format of flash?
What other formats of flash cards work in the plextalk if any?

3. Is 2 Mb the largest amount of flash RAM that can be addressed by the
plextalk? What is the largest amount of flash that I can currently
install and address without going to the hard drive alternative?

4. I do sound for several live concerts a month. I record directly from
my Soundcraft board into the line in on the plextalk. Even though I am
essentually making master recordings at some point in the process of
copying tracks back and forth between CD and the flash card the plextalk
turns on somekind of a copy protection and will not let me perform the
desired action. I have not yet figured out when this does and does not
occur. Sometimes I record directly to CD, sometimes I record to flash
RAM. I alternate between PCM 44.1, MP3 128 and MP3 64. Is there a
simple rule of thumb that I can follow to avoid this limitation?

Thanks
Frank Cuta

Hi,
I purchased one from Office Depot for $39 and it's a 8 in 1 USB reader
from
Sandisk.
