I am on some lists at Freelists, and I have noticed no difficulty. You will still need to manage your list, but not in a technical way. Also, this should result in a shorter list title. I appreciate that you care enough to create and run this list.

The thing is is that the hardware we are using is slightly old, and I had to make a decision as to whether to continue with the current setup, or to outsource the list function to a company who makes it their business to do the list management. At present, I want to move this list to Freelists, as I have seen a good track record of them being able to karry out good list management.
However, this will not be until a few weeks away, since I have to ensure that everything can be easily transferred across. What I want to know is - will anyone have a problem with this? I feel I want to continue to be the list owner for the present, especially at the time of moving the existing address list over, since at the present I am responsible for the data within the existing list and need to ensure that it remains in a safe location.
