We have a mechanism which collects the license information from the
.make files and prints out a nice PDF document with the dependencies of
the packets, in order to make paths from proprietary components to GPL
code visible. However:

- The patches are not ready for mainline yet and need a little bit more
  work before being pushed upstream.

- Of course, there is no legal guarantees. The technical methods do only
provide a mechanism to collect information; the actual reviewing is
still a task for a lawyer.

Sponsors for pushing the scripts upstream are welcome. Please contact me
if you are interested.
