Those types have been added to the list of registered types within
weeks
of the IESG approval of the type registrations, as far as I can tell.
That's not the point. The point is the absurdly long time it took
from someone proposing image/jp2 and video/mp4 to approval.
Implementations expecting image/jp2 and video/mp4 had been shipping
for years before the types made it to the registry.
Of course, it's video/mp4, there is no 'movie' top level media type.
