I'm a developer of no particular prominence - but I feel compelled to state my 
support for the Microdata CR.

To keep developers from confusion is a very weak argument (let alone a bit 
insulting - are you implying we can't handle it?). I've not heard compelling 
arguments for why Microdata doesn't deserve to be a CR, rather I've only heard 
protectionism.
