Hi Bernhard, at 20th Century Press Archives (http://zbw.eu/beta/p20) we plan to apply OAI-ORE to search results.
ORE (http://www.openarchives.org/ore/) covers in a pretty generic, LOD conform way *aggregations* of web resources (as non-information resources of its own), which are described by ressource maps (information resources), serialized as RDF/XML, RDFa or Atom. Applying a special order to the result set (according to, say, a ranking algorithm) should be possible through ore:Proxy. Re. a paging mechanism for resource maps, which would be important for large result sets, there seem to be some early considerations (see http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1555400.1555503).
