Quite. Partitioning of the data server-side can reduce overheads, and
this can be achieved transparently (by using optional headers). What's
not to like :-)

One thing to look at would be: how is this going to affect caches? All the caches need to be aware
that this header has an effect on the representation returned.

This is probably a discussion in part for the HTTP working group, no?
