Brief comment following the call. I mentioned Oren Etzioni at U.Washington and the DARPA BAA on "machine reading". I believe those two entities signal a change at some level in thinking about text harvesting.
As part of my thesis proposal [1], I describe what I call an "anticipatory story reader", which falls into this category. Perhaps some of that work will benefit the HCLS effort, just as I believe that the HCLS activity benefits my thesis research.
