Post-doctoral Scholar Position in Semantic Web and Biomedical Informatics
 
Division for Medical Informatics, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH




 
We are seeking candidates at the intersection of computer science, medicine and 
clinical translational science with experience in semantic-web technologies, 
strong application development skills, and familiarity with software 
engineering best practices. A background in databases and/or logic programming 
is a plus. Typical research projects in the Division of Medical Informatics 
include:
 
* Collaborating with biomedical and clinical investigators at Case CTSA and 
Case Cancer Center to develop forward-looking initiatives to better support 
their project objectives and overall mission, including innovative solutions 
for data collection, large scale data storage & retrieval, data integration, 
data mining & knowledge discovery, data visualization, and social networking;
 
* Implementing and supporting infrastructure for resource management, storage 
space and computational capacity, as well as improving secure and 
policy-compliant access to PHI (patient health information) to enhance 
translational and comparative effectiveness research.
 
A successful candidate should have a Ph.D in computer science, bioinformatics, 
biomedical informatics or related disciplines.
 
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
