If you fetch the latest on the 3.0-dev branch of the devel repo, you'll get this commit [0] which switches the default broker of Pulp3 dev environments to Qpid instead of RabbitMQ.
We are testing new kombu code [1] which helps run the Pulp tasking system. Please report any instabilities or weirdness via the email list along with filing a Pulp issue showing the reproducer with Pulp. The change comes with a way to revert back to rabbitmq. See this new line in the Vagrant file, which if uncommented will give you a rabbitmq setup. I especially hoping people test with qpid to help us work towards this goal [2].
