Hi Pete, The first thing to check is if your Pulp is in a healthy state. Can you post the output of `pulp-admin status`? Some tasks can't be run until Pulp is in a fully functional state. Also are there any errors in the log.
If you can confirm that all of the necessary processes are running then its possible you are experiencing a deadlocking with Qpid? https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-7317 If you are experiencing deadlock you have two options: 1) Install python-qpid 0.36 which is built but not yet promoted to the 'stable' fedora and epel7 repositories. https://apps.fedoraproject. org/packages/python-qpid You can install the rpm manually and even give karma feedback on how it works for you. I recommend this path. We believe this resolved the deadlocking issue. 2) Switch to rabbitMQ for the Pulp broker. Pulp does not QE against rabbitMQ so I don't recommend this path but it should work. Please send questions or ideas. -Brian On Tue, Mar 28, 2017 at 7:16 AM, Scrutton, Peter < [email protected]> wrote: > Dear all, > > > > I am running pulp 2.9.2, and am getting a number of tasks going “waiting > to begin” > > > > This is happening on both a single system and a distributed environment. > > > > Other tasks will proceed successfully. > > > > Is there any advice on debugging/resolving the issue? > > > > I’ve look on the Pulp-list, and am unable to see any useful information > > > > Thanks for your help > > > > > > Regards > > > > Pete > > > > > > *Pete Scrutton* | Linux Engineer | Platform Services > > T: +44 (0)203 664 2792 <+44%2020%203664%202792> | M: +44 (0)7785 300605 > <+44%207785%20300605>| Conference: > > Worldpay Ltd, 270-289 The Science Park, Milton Road | Cambridge CB4 0WE | > United Kingdom > > > > > This e-mail and any attachments are confidential, intended only for the > addressee and may be privileged.
